The production team of the upcoming shorts-based drama “싱글남녀” (“Single Man and Woman”), which is written by Jung Sung-hee, Jang Mi, and directed by Lee Jung-seop, officially announced the casting of Yoon Hyun-min and Jung Hye-sung in the lead roles.
The drama Single Man and Woman follows the story of two people who meet through a second-hand exchange to swap items from their ex-spouse or ex-partner. As they share their ways of overcoming breakups, they also learn how to stand on their own as singles.
Yoon Hyun-min will play Bae Jin-seok, while Jung Hye-sung will take on the role of Oh Da-hye.
Yoon Hyun-min’s character, Bae Jin-seok, is a man who’s been divorced for six months after spending two of his three years of marriage as a goose father (a man who works away from his family to support them). Deciding to finally let go of his lingering feelings, Bae Jin-seok meets Oh Da-hye, a woman in a similar situation, and begins to experience new emotions after a long time.
Jung Hye-sung will portray Oh Da-hye, the female lead. On the outside, Oh Da-hye appears to be a strong, independent woman with ambitions for success. However, underneath that exterior, she harbours a deep longing for love and carries emotional wounds. As she struggles with her unresolved feelings for her ex-boyfriend, meeting Bae Jin-seok helps her begin to heal.
The drama is directed by Lee Jung-seop, who is known for his work on hit dramas like Bread, Love, and Dreams (which peaked at 49.3% viewership), Healer, Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho, Queen for Seven Days, and Angel’s Last Mission: Love.
“Single Man and Woman” is scheduled to be released in December 2024 on the shorts-based streaming platform PulsePick.
