Yoo Yeon-seok and Jang Gyu-ri are set to captivate viewers with MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “When The Phone Rings” which will be premiering from 22nd November at 9:50 PM. It is based on the popular web novel with the same name which is available on Kakao Page.
“When The Phone Rings” is based on the story of Baek So-eon (played by Yoo Yeon-seok) and Na Yoo-ri (played by Jang Gyu-ri) who had an arranged marriage, but they kept their relationship to bare-minimum needed. The story takes a turn after a mysterious threatening call.
In the recently released stills, we see a glimpse of their past as former colleagues at the broadcasting station, highlighting an interesting senior-junior dynamic. As a news anchor, Sa-eon exudes undeniable charisma, drawing attention with his intense gaze and confidence gestures. Meanwhile, Yoo-ri handles a challenging live question from senior Sa-eon with calm professionalism, revealing her composure under pressure.
In another still, we see them in a confrontation, where Sa-eon’s piercing look as he crosse his arms while staring firmly at Yoo-ri raises questions about their relationship, while Yoo-ri, with slightly smudged eye makeup. She stares him with mixed emotions, which makes us wonder what actually happened between them.
The drama and web novel “When The Phone Rings” is written by Kim Ji-woon, who is known for his works such as “Melancholia” and “Doctor John”. The drama is directed by Park Sang-woo, who has also directed “The Forbidden Marriage”.
The drama is set to start airing from 22nd November at 9:50 PM (KST) on MBC TV.
