Tonbo! Anime’s season two is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video and includes English dub. The anime’s first season premiered on 6th April this year and ended with 13 episodes on 29th June 2024. The second season was announced just after the first episode aired in Japan.
The golfing-focused anime series is based on the manga “Ōi! Tonbo” (Hey! Tonbo) which is written by Ken Kawasaki and illustrated by Yū Furusawa. The main character, Tonbo Ōi, is voiced by Rika Hayashi while her coach, Kazuyoshi Igarashi, is voiced by Hiroki Tōchi.
Tonbo! Season 2 Plot:
Tonbo’s life has taken a big turn since leaving the island! Now in high school in Kumamoto, she’s playing golf with other junior players. While Tonbo uses her unique Tokara style, the talented Hinoki is ready for a tough competition. Tonbo’s coach picks her to compete in the Kyushu Women’s Championship, and she’s excited to keep improving by playing against both old and new rivals!
