SBS’s upcoming drama “The Fiery Priest 2”, set to premiere on November 8, has released its main poster, revealing a huge lineup of characters ready to deliver an action-packed and humorous crime story. The poster features 20 actors, showcasing the impressive scale and ambition of this much-anticipated second season of “The Fiery Priest 2”.
Building on the success of the 2019 hit “The Fiery Priest”, which recorded a remarkable 24% viewership at its peak, the new season follows Father Kim Hae-il (Kim Nam-gil), a fierce priest with anger management issues and a dual role as the head of a secret gang. This time, Kim Hae-il takes his mission to Busan, where he faces off with a dangerous drug cartel, forming new alliances in a unique blend of crime drama and comedy.
In the center of the poster, Kim Hae-il holds a rosary and displays a determined expression, signalling his resolve to take on Busan’s underworld. Behind him are two returning fan favourites – Prosecutor Park Kyung-sun (Lee Ha-nee), with her steadfast sense of justice and Detective Koo Dae-young (Kim Sung-kyun), bringing his loyal, fearless demeanour to the fight.
The poster also introduces new antagonists and allies, such as crime boss Kim Hong-sik (played by Sung Joon) and Prosecutor Nam Doo-hun (played by Seo Hyun-woo), each entangled in the escalating conflict. New members of the ‘Goo-dam Avengers,’ like Detective Goo Ja-young (played by Kim Hyeong-seo), join the team with bold expressions, signaling the dramatic clashes ahead.
Returning allies from Season 1 include characters like Ko Dok-seong (Kim Won-hae), Oh Yo-han (Ko Kyu-pil), and Song-sak (Ahn Chang-hwan), all ready to back up Hae-il in his unpredictable fight against organized crime. Additional fresh faces bring their own quirky styles, such as the comical gangster duo played by Yang Hyun-min and Lee Dae-yeon.
As a follow-up to “The Fiery Priest 2”, the new season promises to deliver gripping action, intense confrontations, and unexpected humour. The Fiery Priest 2 will air every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m., starting November 8 on SBS. It will be available to stream on Netflix (subscription required), Apple TV, Kocowa and SBS World.
