In the tvN weekend drama “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born”, Huh Young-seo (played by Shin Ye-eun) is seen comforting and encouraging Yoon Jeong-nyeon (played by Kim Tae-ri) to continue her career and not lose her hope, since she still has her talent in acting.
In “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born” episode 10, Huh Young-seo approaches Yoon Jeong-nyeon with a script. However, Yoon rejects it, saying she doesn’t need it. But when the script falls into water, she immediately jumps in to retrieve it.
Young-seo follows her, pulls her out of the water, and Jeong-nyeon, visibly upset, questions, “Why are you even here? Weren’t you happy to take Ok-kyung’s position as her successor and live your life without worrying?”
Young-seo then retorts, “What have you done to feel like this is your only option?” as Jeong-nyeon breaks down, “You saw me struggle, trying everything, but no sound would come out from my mouth. So, what can I do now?”
Young-seo, says, “You still have your acting. The performance I’ve always admired but could never match. I was never just scared of your voice – it was the way you brought life into every scene with your acting. At the final group stage audition, you showed me the acting I always dreamed of achieving. Watching you, I could barely breathe. I wanted just once to perform like that.”
Jeong-nyeon confesses, “Since I hurt my throat, I keep dreaming about that audition day. In the dream, my voice comes out strong and clear. I stand tall, push from my core, and every sound flows freely. It feels like magic, even in the dream.” She continues, “But when I wake up, I feel so alone, scared, like a weight is pressing down on my chest.”
Young-seo assures her, “Jeong-nyeon, you’re not alone now, and you never will. I’ll stay by your side. I’ll wait as long as it takes for you to stand on stage again.”
“Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born” episode 11 will air November 16 at 9:20 PM (KST) on tvN. After the TV broadcast, it will be available to stream on various streaming platforms, such as Disney+, Viki etc.
