The upcoming tvN crime-drama “Parole Examiner Lee” which start airing every Monday-Tuesday from 18th November has dropped a teaser. The crime drama is follows lawyer Lee Han-shin (played by Go Soo), who steps up as the ultimate “parole examiner” to reduce the release of morally questionable convicts. It also includes Kwon Yu-ri as Detective Ahn Seo-yoon and Baek Ji-won as the loan shark Choi Hwa-ran.
The drama “Parole Examiner Lee” is story of Lee Han-shin in his mission to enforce justice on those who try to exploit the parole system.
The teaser starts with Lee Han-shin asked a convict, “Do you know what type of bread prisoners like the most?”, which puzzles the convict, who is revealed to be Ji Dong-man (played by Song Young-chang), the wealthy head of the Oh-Jung Group. Lee smiles and jokingly answers to his own question – “Parole Bread”.
As Lee establishes himself as the final line of defence, text flashes beside him: “Parole Officer Lee Han-shin, protector against corrupt”.
After this, the scene shifts to Detective Ahn Seo-yoon (played by Kwon Yu-ri), who is introduced as the “Crime Unit Ace for Justice”. She works within the boundaries of the law, yet her curiosity is piqued by Lee’s unorthodox approach to justice, as she questions, “Is this really the way to stop them?”
The next scene shows the arrival of the “legendary loan shark” Choi Hwa-ran (Baek Ji-won), who joins Lee in his mission. Despite her background, she shows unwavering trust in Lee’s judgement, saying, “You seem pretty sure of yourself”. This unlikely alliance among a parole examiner, a detective and a loan shark set the stage for an unusual partnership.
A spoiled second-generation heir, Ji Myung-seop (played by Lee Hak-joo) is then spotted partying at a club. As the voiceover highlights, “Parole is not an option for a man like him”, the teaser hints at his manipulative ways, as he is seen taunting Lee, “I told you, you can’t stop me”.
However, Lee counters with confidence, “Let’s get started!”, as action packed scenes show Detective Ahn taking down criminals, Choi Hwa-ran chuckling with satisfaction and Lee, eyeing cold bars, ready to enforce justice.
In the dramatic closing line, Lee states, “You are not fit for the outside world. You still have not paid for your sins”, revealing his fierce resolve within his calm exterior.
“Parole Officer Lee” is set to start premiering from 18th November at 8:50 PM (KST) in tvN.
