Fuji TV drama “Monster” episode 5, starring Shuri and SixTONES’ Jesse will air on November 11 at 10:00 PM (JST). The story summary and preview images have been released ahead of the broadcast by the production team.

In this unique legal entertainment series, Shuri plays Ryoko Kamba, a mysterious “monster” lawyer known for her unconventional, emotionless approach. Ryoko takes on various unresolved issues of modern-day Japan, treating each legal case as if it were a game. “Monster” is an original story written by Atsuko Hashibe.

In “Monster” episode 5, Emma Sato, the daughter of a famous American millionaire, reaches out to Ryoko, arriving in Japan to sue a hospital. Her late father, Masaru, who had cancer, sought treatment in the U.S. but later joined a medical tour organized by a Japanese clinic for wealthy foreigners.

Despite the expensive treatment, it proved ineffective, and upon returning home, Masaru lost hope, refusing further treatment and eventually passing away. Emma now asks Ryoko to prove that the clinic’s questionable treatments led to her father’s death. Ryoko discovers that Okamoto Premium Clinic, where Masaru received treatment, was initially a local hospital. However, due to financial struggles, the previous director’s son, Hisashi Okamoto, transformed it into a high-end clinic for the wealthy, making it highly profitable.

When Ryoko tries to investigate further, Jesse’s character, Yoshihiro Sugiura, pretends to suffer from severe stomach pain, allowing the two to enter the clinic unnoticed.

Ryoko gathers enough evidence to proceed with the lawsuit and confronts the clinic’s legal team alongside Emma. Although she seems to have the upper hand in negotiations, Ryoko senses something off about the opposing lawyer’s behaviour. Days later, a different lawyer visits her office, and Ryoko is shocked to find it’s her father, Haruaki Tsuburui, who has been missing for 12 years.
