“Dongjae, The Good or The Bastard” is on-going tvN drama which follows prosecutor Seo Dong-jae (Lee Joon-hyuk) as he confronts his past and engages in a high-stakes battle with Nam Wan-sung. In “Dongjae, The Good or The Bastard”, Kim Su-gyeom portrays Nam Gyeo-rae, the son of Nam Wan-sung (played by Park Sung-woong), the CEO of Lee Hong Construction.
In episode 3, Kim Su-gyeom’s character was involved in a gripping murder case that ended with him being accused, handcuffed and covered in blood beside the body of Im Yoo-ri (Choi Joo-eun).
And then in the episode 4 which aired on 23rd October, his emotional performance, from his confusion to his denial of the crime, added a layer of tension, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats. During the interrogation, Nam Gyeo-rae revealed his involvement in drug dealing, a shocking confession that starts the main investigation.
Kim’s portrayal of the misunderstood and traumatized Nam Gyeo-rae showcases his acting talent. From subtle expressions of fear to tearful confrontations with his father who does not believes him, his performance has made him one of the key characters of the series.
