In episode 17 of KBS 2TV’s weekend drama “Iron Family”, Seo Kang-ju (played by Kim Jung-hyun) can be seen upset with Lee Da-rim (played by Keum Sae-rok) for always supporting Cha Tae-woong (played by Choi Tae-joon), even when he admitted of doing something.
In this episode, Ji Seung-don (played by Shin Hyun-joon) misunderstands Cha Tae-woong after hearing from Lee Da-rim that Tae-woong had been to New York. Ji Seung-don angrily calls Tae-woong and asks, “Was it you who posted Kang-ju’s New York Film School certificate on our company’s board?”
Cha Tae-woong, although not guilty, takes responsibility, saying, “Yes, it was me. Just like my mother, I guess I’ve inherited her con-artist blood. It was me who posted it.”
When Tae-woong arrives at the company, Seo Kang-ju confronts him, furious: “Was it you? Did you post it to humiliate me? Do you want this company that badly?” Tae-woong responds sharply, “Yes, I posted it. From now on, try achieving something on your own. Everything you’ve had since birth, I’ve had to fight for. There’s no such thing as ‘deserved’ in this world.”
After Tae-woong leaves, Kang-ju, still bewildered, says, “I never thought he’d stoop this low. Did he really do it? Is he going after my father now, too?”
Later, Kang-ju confronts Tae-woong at the laundry shop, venting his frustration: “I’ve spent my life worried about being exposed, hiding things. And you… Thank you for exposing everything I’ve worked to hide which gave me so much anxiety and fear. Did you expect me to thank you? I’m not some understanding guy who just accepts everything. I’m greedy and don’t want to lose anything, especially my father. Are you after my father now? I won’t let that happen.”
Kang-ju adds, “Fine, I admit my mistakes. I’ll live with the shame now that everything’s out. But you’re just as bad as me. Was this the only way? Posting it on the board? Humiliating my father? That’s what angers me the most. Was this really the only way to get to my father? You sly coward.”
Kang-ju concludes his warning: “Stay away from my father. Someone like you doesn’t belong by his side. He hates people like you, who stab others in the back. I’ll protect my father, and I’ll protect this company. You go your way, and I’ll go mine.”
Meanwhile, Lee Da-rim defends Tae-woong, saying, “He’s not the kind of person who would do that. He would never harm anyone.”
However, Kang-ju, feeling betrayed, lashes out at Da-rim: “Do you always have to take his side? Has there ever been a moment when you were on my side? He admitted it himself, are you still going to ignore that?” But Da-rim insists, “He’s not like that.”
In frustration, Kang-ju shouts, “You should get your eyes checked! Why do you always look at people with your heart instead of reality?”
The next episode of “Iron Family” will air on November 24 on KBS 2TV and will be later available to stream on various platforms, such as Viki, Prime Video, KBS World, Kocowa and Wavve, depending on your region.
