Han Suk-kyu’s Intense Interrogation of Park Jun-tae in “Doubt”

In the episode 8 of MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama Doubt which aired on November 8, Jang Tae-su (played by Han Seok-kyu) confronts the prime suspect of a murder case, Park Jun-tae (played by Yoo Ui-tae), pushing him to reveal his anxieties. It makes us wonder on how the statements he collects in this interrogation will shape the investigation.

In episode 7, Jun-tae confessed that he killed Choi Young-min (played by Kim Jung-jin) after his girlfriend, Kim Sung-hee (played by Choi Yoo-hwa) was arrested in connection with Young-min’s murder. Before the incident, Jun-tae had fought Young-min in an attempt to protect Sung-hee, who was present at the crime scene.

Tae-su is later faced with another challenge when he receives a phone call from Jun-tae’s father, Doo-chul (played by Yoo Oh-sung). He earns Tae-su that if his son is not released, he will send police the photo where Tae-su’s daughter, Ha-bin (played by Chae Won-bin), standing besides the body of Young-min.

In the preview images from episode 8, we see Tae-su staring intently at Jun-tae, pressuring him psychologically. Although Jun-tae insists he acted alone, the clues found by police as well as his own words during the interrogation suggests otherwise, leading him to waver under Tae-su’s questioning.

The episode 8 of “Doubt” aired on 9:50 PM (KST) on November 8 in MBC TV. It can be streamed on Netflix by global viewers.
