Ha Yoon-kyung will star in the new Disney+ crime drama “Gangnam B-Side”, which premieres on November 6. The show follows a detective, a prosecutor, and a mysterious broker, all searching for Kim Jae-hee, a missing club ace.
Directed and written by Park Noo-ri, who is known for the film “Money (2019)” and “The Berlin File (2013)”, the series features a talented cast which includes Jo Woo-jin, Ji Chang-wook, Ha Yoon-kyung and BIBI.
In “Gangnam B-Side”, Ha Yoon-kyung plays Min Seo-jin, a prosecutor who has no connections. She must navigate a tough organization while trying to succeed and stay true to her sense of justice.
She is known for her cheerful roles in shows like “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” and “See You in My 19th Life”, this time, she will show a completely different side as she portrays a sharp and cold character.
Ha Yoon-kyung described her role as well as hints that her character will become more interesting with the story, saying, “Min Seo-jin is like cold fire. She has a strong ambition but hides it behind a cold front”.
Director Park Noo-ri shared that he changed Min Seo-jin’s age in the script to work with Ha Yoon-kyung, saying, “I wanted to collaborate with her so much”. In preparation for her role, Ha Yoon-kyung met with real prosecutors to gain insights. She focused on authenticity by avoiding makeup and wearing simple clothes to reflect the hard life of a prosecutor.
Park Noo-ri praised Ha Yoon-kyung’s dedication, calling her a “dialogue genius”. He said, “She not only memorized her complex lines perfectly but also delivered them with great acting”. Co-star Jo Woo-jin, who plays detective Kang Dong-woo, mentioned, “Sometimes she felt like an older sister. She’s an honest and upright actor”.
