The episode 9 of KBS 2TV’s weekend drama “Iron Family” which aired on 26th October, featured a touching moment where Seo Kang-joo (played by Kim Jung-hyun) kissed Lee Da-rim (played by Geum Sae-rok) on the forehead.
Later, Da-rim’s successful eye surgery led Go Bong-hee (played by Park Ji-young), Ahn Gil-rae (played by Kim Young-ok), and Lee Man-duk (played by Park In-hwan) to hide their remaining money. The three secretly bought a new bed, storing money beneath the mattress.
Kang-joo, who previously set fire to the their laundry, mustered up the courage to visit Da-rim’s hospital room. Mistaking him for Cha Tae-woong (played by Choi Tae-joon) due to her bandaged eyes, Da-rim expressed her fears, to which Kang-joo held her hand, altered his voice to sound like Tae-woong, and even kissed her forehead, surprising the viewers.

Shocked by his own sudden move, Kang-joo quickly left the hospital, calling out to Da-rim from the hallway, “Well done. Congratulations, Da-rim. You’re truly brave.”. When Da-rim finally removed her bandages, her first sight was Bong-hee’s face, filling her with overwhelming joy. Da-rim’s tearful reunion with her family brought a heartfelt moment to the audience.
Meanwhile, Baek Ji-yeon (played by Kim Hye-eun) confessed to Ji Seung-don (played by Shin Hyun-joon) and Kang-joo that she had encountered Oh Min-ki (played by Kang Deok-jung), the thief who had stolen their money. Upon hearing this, Kang-joo and Seung-don scolded her, leaving Ji-yeon feeling betrayed by her family, who acted unaware of her 10 billion won. Feeling hurt, Ji-yeon asked Seung-don for a divorce, while Kang-joo, listening in, glared at the bedroom door, adding tension to their family dynamics.
Later, Seung-don received yet another email from No Ae-ri (played by Jo Mi-ryeong). This time, Ae-ri included a photo of Tae-woong and claimed he was Seung-don’s biological son, infuriating Seung-don. Bong-hee visited Seung-don in his office and demanded a promissory note, requesting it show he loaned her 800 million won for her daughter’s surgery. Although surprised by her request, Seung-don reluctantly agreed after Bong-hee threatened to reveal his past relationship with a bar hostess from their college days.
In the episode’s closing scene, Kang-joo, who had gone to repair a burnt zippo lighter, spotted Da-rim at a crosswalk after her eye surgery. However, Da-rim, failing to recognize him, asked, “Who are you? Do I know you?” before hurriedly moving away, calling him “a crazy guy.” Her reaction left viewers laughing and wondering whether Da-rim truly failed to recognize him or was pretending, adding anticipation for the next episode.
The 10th episode of KBS 2TV’s “Iron Family” airs tonight, October 27, at 8 PM (KST).
