MBC’s popular drama “Doubt” has finally concluded with its episode 10, earning praise for its solid storytelling, suspense and emotional depth. The show provided the viewers with a unique “father-daughter thriller” and maintained its intensity until the very end, delivery a happy ending.

In the finale, Jang Tae-su (played by Han Suk-kyu) was able to uncover the real culprit behind the series of murders and prove his daughter, Jang Ha-bin’s (played by Chae Won-bin) innocence. The father-daughter duo was finally able to reconcile and have a sweet moment with each other, where Tae-su gifted his daughter, her long-due birthday present.
Ha-bin’s mother, Yoon Ji-su (Oh Yeon-soo), provided an emotionally impactful plot to the story. She mistakenly believed that her daughter was the one who killed her own friend, Lee Soo-hyun (played by Song Ji-hyun) and buried the body to protect her. Yet, Ji-su never completely gave up on believing that her daughter, Ha-bin, was innocent and continued to look for the truth.
The real culprit of the murders, Kim Sung-hee (Choi Yoo-hwa) had manipulated Ji-su’s guilt and made her believe that it was actually her daughter who killed her friend. However, Ji-su’s efforts were finally helpful in uncovering the true murderer – Kim Sung-hee, after the CCTV footage left behind by Ji-su was found.
While Ha-bin sought revenge against Sung-hee for her mother’s death, Tae-su intervenes by taking responsibility for his own shortcomings. He admitted that he doubted his own daughter and failed to see her for who she truly was. Apologizing with sincerity, Tae-su told Ha-bin, “I’m sorry I did not ask you sooner. Forgive me for being late”. Their tearful reconciliation was a powerful moment that resonated with viewers deeply.
In the end, Tae-soo chose to resign from his position, accepting accountability for mishandling the investigation. His colleagues, Lee Yeo-jin (Han Ye-ri) and Goo Dae-hong (No Jae-won), also reflected on their own biases and resolved to become better police officers.
The final scene offered a stark contrast to the drama’s opening. Where the father and daughter who once sat far apart were not sharing a warm and close moment, sitting side by side. Tae-su gave Ha-bin a long-overdue birthday gift – a watch, and the two began to rebuild their bond.
To replace “Doubt”, a new MBC drama “When The Phone Rings” will start premiering from November 22 at 9:50 PM (KST). The drama is based on a popular web novel of the same name.
