In the second last episode of MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama “Doubt”, Kim Sung-hee (played by Choi Yu-hwa) turned out to be the real killer behind the murder of Song Min-ah (Han Soo-ah) and Choi Young-min (Kim Jung-jin), leaving the viewers stunned.
In episode 9 of “Doubt”, Jang Ha-bin’s (Chae Won-bin) detailed plan to catch the real culprit was revealed. In her plan, she expected her father, Jang Tae-su (Han Suk-kyu) to first suspect her and then ultimately rescue her by catching the real culprit.
Meanwhile, Kim Sung-hee (Choi Yu-hwa) was revealed as the true culprit for the deaths of Song Min-ah (Han Soo-ah) and Choi Young-min (Kim Jung-jin).
In a tense encounter, Tae-su confronted Sung-hee in her house but she claimed that she did not meet Min-ah on the day she died. However, her son, Do-yoon (Jo Sung-ha), revealed that he had seen Min-ah at their house which made Tae-su believe that Sung-hee’s words were lies. Tae-su suspected that Sung-hee might be after financial gain, since the bag of money which Young-min had was missing.
Later, Sung-hee and Do-yoon were summoned to the police station. Detective Goo Dae-hong (No Jae-won) interrogated Sung-hee and talked with Do-yoon. He learned from Do-yoon that he had unknowingly drugged Min-ah, making the situation more complicated. Sung-hee, knowing that she was suspicion, provided Dae-hong with evidence hidden in Young-min’s bag, seemingly framing her son. However, the truth behind Sung-hee’s actions continued to reveal.
It was later discovered that Sung-hee drugged Min-ah after she threatened to report her if she didn’t receive her share of money. Sung-hee’s dark grin while watching the runaway kids eat the food she had prepared added to the unsettling atmosphere, revealing why her son Do-yoon had refused to eat her food.
Meanwhile, Ha-bin appeared to be released as an innocent bystander until a cell phone in Young-min’s bag revealed a threatening message sent by Young-min to Ji-su (Oh Yeon-soo), saying, “I saw your daughter kill Lee Soo-hyun (Song Ji-hyun)”. Ha-bin was subsequently arrested, heightening Tae-su’s resolve to prove Sung-hee’s guilt to clear his daughter’s name.
Tae-su brought Jun-tae’s father, Du-cheol to the police station. Both of them desperate to prove their children’s innocence were determined to prove Sung-hee as the culprit. The final scene left audiences with anticipation as Tae-soo, despite his earlier regrets about doubting his daughter, was seen determined to protect her.
