In the final episode of JTBC‘s weekend drama “A Virtuous Business”, viewers witnessed Han Jung-sook (played by Kim So-yeon) stepping into her new role as the owner of an adult product store, marking a bold turn in her journey.
The episode began with Kim Do-hyun (played by Yeon Woo-jin) proposing a meal together with his biological mother, Oh Geum-hee (played by Kim Sung-ryung), and Jung-sook. Facing a sudden departure for work abroad, Do-hyun hoped to build a closer bond with his mother before leaving. Jung-sook helped organize a heartfelt project to make this happen, ultimately seeing Do-hyun off.
However, on the day of Do-hyun’s departure, their office was left in shambles, and the business’s funds had disappeared. When Jung-sook urgently contacted the Seoul headquarters for answers, she was hit with the shocking news that the branch had shut down a year earlier.

This devastating news threw Jung-sook into despair. Yet, with the unwavering support of her friends Oh Geum-hee, Seo Young-bok, and Lee Joo-ri, she found the strength to take action. Determined to face the situation, Jung-sook went to meet Im Mi-ran (played by Ra Mi-ran), who had been at the centre of the business.

In a tense reunion, Mi-ran admitted to her mistakes but defended her intentions. She explained how initial curiosity had drawn customers to the business, but protests and accusations of promoting immoral activities soon caused its decline. With no other options, Mi-ran relocated to a remote area to start fresh but faced setbacks when suppliers abroad were arrested.
When Jung-sook asked, “What should we do now?” Mi-ran urged her to continue, saying, “If you believe this path isn’t wrong, don’t give up. Find another way. Let’s meet again once the storm leaves.” Moments later, Mi-ran escaped through a window to evade the police.
Motivated by these words, Jung-sook returned to her business roots. She resolved to rebuild, fuelled by the determination that kept her going from the start.

Four years later, Jung-sook’s dream came to life with the grand opening of a new store under the name A Virtuous Business. Kim Do-hyun appeared at the celebration, holding a bouquet of balloons. However, the joyous event faced disruption when a group of protesters arrived, condemning the store as harmful to families.
Standing firm, Jung-sook declared, “If I intended to back down, I wouldn’t have come this far.” She boldly cut the strings of the balloon bouquet, sending it soaring into the sky. With a determined smile, she added, “If there’s a wall, I’ll find a way over it, even if it takes time.”

Through this ending, A Virtuous Business delivered a powerful message of patience, daring to challenge societal expectations and pursue one’s dream.
